What can I do to solve the problem ? Reboot only ?
The ISE Webpack 10.1 seems to be very buggy.

Hello,
What is the OS you are using?
When do you see this error ? Like launching ISE or any other tool.
Regards

I'm using Windows XP SP 3.
Something is going wrong in Xilinx ISE Webpack 10.1 SP3.
As I already stated in another mail I can`t create a testbench by using New Source ---> Testbench.
Second I have this error that in some projects I can't do a simulation and get this "remains a black-box since it has no binding entity".
In the bevarioral simulation view the uut under the testbench has this red "nice" question mark.
I think because it is not found.
I thougt the problem was solved by installing the following patch.
ftp://ftp.xilinx.com/pub/applications/misc/10sp3_gBut this seems not be not the case.tx_gtp_fast_model_patch.zip

I think I could generate this error by declaring a generic without assignment.
Something like:
generic
(
size : natural
);

I have faced a similar problem, also under windows xp sp3.
I have tried to reinstall ise 11.1 after re-installation the problem was eliminated. However, after working with a project with a long directory path name - It may be the cause of the problem - the message appears again. So I have tried to play around with the windows registry editor (regedit) since, I realized then that some wrong settings are being saved which causes the new project command to halt. I have searched within the registry for Xilinx/ISE11.1/ and there I have deleted the registry keys which I doubted, and finally after deleting some of them, the problem was successfully eliminated, voila!
Hint: the faulty register keys causing the problem is one of the keys under : HKEY_USERS\*\Software\Xilinx\ISE\11.1\
and the name of the key usually contains "GUI".
