Archived ISE issues

Hi

I only need to download the ISE simulator, so that I can simulate VHDL code. I know that is a stupied question, but which one of the following products do I need to install for the simulator only?

	ISE WebPACK 10.1 (Free Download)
	ISE Foundation 10.1 (Free 60-Day Evaluation)
	Embedded Development Kit (EDK) 10.1 (Free 60-Day Evaluation)
	ChipScope Pro 10.1 with Serial I/O Toolkit License Key (Free 60-Day Evaluation)
	System Generator for DSP and AccelDSP Synthesis Tool 10.1 (Free 60-Day Evaluation)
	PlanAhead Design Analysis Tool 10.1 (Free 60-Day Evaluation)

As you can see I first chose the second one, but it installed the wrong program for me. I need the program which is explained in this pdf file:

what do I need to choose from the above?

Hello,

I think you need to install ISE Webpack or ISE Foundation to have ISE Simulator. I was wondering if you would need to run ISE Simulator in Stand alone.

Yes, I only need the simulator, for practice issues.

So which one should I download?

BTW, I have downloaded the WEBPACK version (seperatly), and when I tried to install it, the setup wouldn't let me select it.

Before that I installed only the ISE foundation and later uninstalled it, but it remained in the start -> all programs, so I guess there was some problem with the uninstall.

ISE Simulator is only available bundled with ISE.  It runs in the same GUI, but unlike iMPACT, cannot be downloaded or launched separately.

WebPACK comes with ISim lite, which has a limitation on the number of lines of code it will simulate.  Foundation comes with the full version.

Would Modelsim-XE work for you?  It should have all the Xilinx libraries pre-compiled.  To my knowledge, it is not necessary to have ISE installed to use it (but I could be wrong).

What is the limit of lines?

i believe the ISIM lite starts limiting at 50,000 lines of code.

hi,

     for ur case u need ISE  dsign suite full version to completely verify ur design without any risk as u may face problems if ur design is too robust to simulate in isim lite which comes with webpack..
