what are selection criteria for CPLD/FPGA?
I need the list of considerations while choosing a device like power, vol, current,IO's etc.........
Please dont say it depends on the application used. Yes it is but in general how can i select a CPLD/FPGA.
please help me in this regard.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the support ayang and bob too.
My concern is only in a technical aspect.
Can you suggest any document from xilinx which can give the complete details in selecting an CPLD/FPGA.
if you are saying voltages, current or any other parameters are to be considered what are that currents, volatages to be strictly followed???? in detailed.

pesonally I think the way to narrow it down goes like this
user I/O - you need to know how many, and if you need high speed transceivers
application - do you need extended temperatures/military grade parts
DSP - do you have any need for multipliers
Longevity - do you need the same part for 1 year, 10 years or more?
This should narrow it down quite a bit,
Then there is
The size of the design, which will probably be smaller than what you have selected above.
Cost - talk to an FAE if you can as some parts are cheaper because...well just because.
and yes there are some considerations necessary if you want to do something whacky with IO voltages, but most parts support the sort of things you want to do.
