Hi,
I'm using MGT transceivers in my Spartan 6 design and I'm having some problems with UG386.
The ug says that MGTREFCLK pins should be grounded if unused, but in my application the mgt signal and reference clock come from a second board which is optional and not necessarily connected. So grounding the REFCLK pins is of course impossible, but this means that they must remain floating in contradiction to UG386.
What is the solution here?
Thanks.

The User Guide text is a recommendation and not a requirement. Leaving the pins floating is fine.
