Hallo community,

I built a SysGen model with the RS Encoder block involved. When I simulate the design, RS gives "NaN" (not a number) at all of its ouputs. Do I need a license for simulation in SysGen? I can't find any information about that.

Ensure the input to RS Encoder are valid, try to use valid in and valid out for each block.

I think I did everything correct, but I still get the NANs. Could you please take a look at the model attached? I am using Xilinx 12.1 and Matlab 2010a. I know 2010a is beta for SysGen 12.1, maybe that is the problem!?

Nope, same problem with 2009b.

So is it the license or did I do anything wrong in the model?

Well, I retrieved an evaluation license and now simulation works as expected. I don't blame Xilinx for that, it's normal business. But please, please, please write that down in the SysGen documentation somewhere!

I remember it only occurs on RS v6.1 or v6.0. couldn't remember what's the exact version. Other cores should be fine.
