Can the poster, or anyone else, clarify the difference? i.e. details on Why PlanAhead and why not ISE? What edge(s) does PlanAhead have over ISE, exactly?

PlanAhead involves many capablities that cannot be achieved in ISE, i.e. floorplanning, I/O pin planning, design visiualization and analysis. You can use powerful debug and analysis features of PlanAhead to assist timing closure.
