hi everybody

i just started my final year project and topic is "fpga implementation of retinex imaging".

idea is to implement retinex imaging algorithm in fpga(xilinx spartan 3e). feed image from computer via parallel port and show processed image in computer itself.

i know vhdl and matlab.

anyone got any idea where to start?

You could try checking out the some of the Xilinx reference designs for the Spartan-3A DSP Video Starter Kit and see if you can port them over to a Spartan-3E. Won't be as easy though since the Spartan-3E's don't have dedicated multipliers like the 3A DSP's.
