Re: EDK download

Hi,

and welcome to the Xilinx forum :smileyhappy:

I guess you have good resons to install a such a rather old ISE version. The actual version of the ISE tools would be 13.1.

You can find all the actual and matured ISE versions in the download area:

http://www.xilinx.com/support/download/index.htm

AFAIK it is best to work with the same EDK version as ISE is, so EDK 11.1 is also available for download in the 11.1 folder. We have always done it like that. Of course the EDK is not free of charge, you will have to buy a license...

Cheers

Re: EDK download

Buy a license ??!!! What a good news :smileyindifferent:

In fact, i am using ubuntu 10.04, and i have a friend of mine who had problems with ISE 12 and 13, so he advises me to work with ISE 11.1

Are you sure, there is no possibility to have EDK for free ?? :smileysad:

Re: EDK download

If your project is fairly simple and you can work effectively without sleeping much, you might be able to do everything you need within the 30 day free trial period.

If you're studying at a university, they may have EDK licenses for students/researchers.

I'm not sure anyone would recommend using 11.1 unless you knew you were specifically going to be affected by the same problems your friend had (what were they?). Support for older devices (such as the Virtex-2 Pro) is the most common reason for starting a new project with older versions.
