PowerPC 440 sin-function

Good day.

I'm using a PowerPC 440 on a Virtex-5 FPGA and want to generate a sine wave. In the process I've discovered the "sin"-finction in math.h, but cant seem to get it working correctly. Can anyone please shine some light on this funciton? How does it work? Is it working in radians or degrees?

Re: PowerPC 440 sin-function

Take a peek at the sin man page:

"These functions shall compute the sine of their argument x, measured in radians"

Re: PowerPC 440 sin-function

Thanks Brian!

Where can I obtain these manuals (for instance the manual for the math-funtions)? I looked on the internet for information on these functions, but was unsure what to look for.

Re: PowerPC 440 sin-function

These are standard C math library functions.  You can view these man pages from your Unix prompt. I.E.

$ man sin

$ man math.h

etc...
