I am trying to build a network bridge [1 Gbps - SGMII design] using XUPV5 board with 2 ports, one Ethernet Phy RJ45 connector and the other one using SFP module. Am using EDK design flow with microblaze soft processor. Am able to interface the ethernet PHY port and using lwIP TCP/IP stack to do networking.
I am stuck with interfacing the SFP module. Am using Finisar's FCMJ-8521-3 1000BASE-T Copper SFP transceiver for taking input to the XUPV5 board. But am not able to interface the SFP module.
1) Could somebody shed light on how to interface the same.
2) Are there any available reference designs/drivers which does the SFP interfacing.
3) Also, can I use xps_ethernetlite IP core to interface the SFP at 10/100Mbps, which is working fine with Ethernet Phy.
4) Or does SFP work only with xps_ll_emac IP core [soft_emac_wrapper 2.03] with SGMII/1000Base-X option?
Kindly help in proceeding with the design.
