When I’m not active in my forum window for, say, an hour or slightly more, I am signed off automatically. I already enabled cookie storage for forums.xilinx.com and secure.xilinx.com, but nothing changes. I searched for an option like "Stay Signed On All The Time" or alike, but I couldn’t find anything in this regard. Having to sign on twice a day or even more is cumbersome.

But more secure than staying logged-on indefinitely.

No. It only leads to users choosing passwords like "123456" or "not again a new logon".
The mechanism could be changed such that, e.g. after not using the forum (or not writing a post) for 1 week one would have to sign on again. Wikipedia uses such a mechanism for its contributors.
The other point might be that I actually don’t sign on just to the forum but to all Xilinx support area, and stale connections indeed might be considered a risk. The forum is completely public, so I can’t understand why such a tight policy is enforced on that.

The auto-logoff setting is compulsory for us to set.
It is now set at the maximum value of 200 minutes.

I want my bank to log me off after a few minutes of inactivity.
I really don't care if someone comes up to my computer and posts as me.
Maybe that's already happened!

Yes, I do this for a living.
