Hi,
I'd like to add an SDI or OSD IP topic in the IP Forum section.
How do I go about doing that or whom do I ask?

Click on the "New Message" button above the forum threads listing.
If you are proposing a new forum category, then this is the forum to post such requests.

README for newbies is here: http://forums.xilinx.com/t5/New-Users-Forum/README-first-Help-for-new-users/td-p/219369
Summary:
1. Read the manual or user guide. Have you read the manual? Can you find the manual?
2. Search the forums (and search the web) for similar topics.
3. Do not post the same question on multiple forums.
4. Do not post a new topic or question on someone else's thread, start a new thread!
5. Students: Copying code is not the same as learning to design.
6 "It does not work" is not a question which can be answered. Provide useful details (with webpage, datasheet links, please).
7. You are not charged extra fees for comments in your code.
8. I am not paid for forum posts. If I write a good post, then I have been good for nothing.

Simon,
Either email me, or post here a short description of what you would like to see, and then if you post here, we can see how much support it gathers: it is up to the community to respond if they like it.
What I usually do is then look at all webcases, and see if we have some volume on the topics in webcases.
Right now, we are working on a top YYY "frequently asked questions" to have the answers. It goes a bit beyond FAQ, only in the sense that it attempts to attack the really big questions, like the all time number one: why does DONE not go high?"
Perhaps these are GAQ: globally asked questions?
Anyway, just let us know what you would like to see on a new forum, and we can go and see how useful that will be to everyone.

Hi,
Well I am developing an SDI application using the RTVE (Real Time Video Engine) and it involves quite a lot of IP all together and I had run into a question about it, but could not find a forum topic that covered it or find anything on a search. It covers OSD and Alpha Blending and also de-interlacing etc etc. I guess there are not a lot of Web Cases.. I know I have one !

Is it a DSP related subject? I was not aware that there were any DSP functionaility. I am not too clear on the difference between a DSP and a microprocessor (Though I have programmed both :-)
I wanted to make a line on the video overlay display and the Logicore OSD IP does not seem to have code to draw a single line. Boxes and text yes, but lines? No.

Video in its digital form is a signal, and it gets processed.
So, it is covered in the DSP forum.
