Zynq®: too clever?

[ Edited ]

Unintended consequence of the clever product line name Zynq®How many different ways can Zynq® be mis-spelled?

On one hand, greater effort is required to search the forums or the web for Zynq®-related material, as the numerous and common  Zynq® spelling variants must be considered.

On the other hand, a search which includes only properly-spelled Zynq® references will filter out near-misses posted by designers who may be sleep-deprived or who may not take sufficient care with such details.  Some may consider this filter effect to be an aid rather than a hindrance.

This user forum site has its own search facility.  Does anyone have an interest in an option button in the 'advanced search' tool which allows 'fuzzy logic matching' for the search item Zynq®?  This would consider the following terms to be equivalent to 'Zynq®':

zink

zinq

zinc

zync

zynk

Any others which should be on this list?

Off-topic:  has Xilinx yet offered promotional materials (T-shirts, mugs, pens, etc.) with the logo Thynq Zynq®! ?

1. Read the manual or user guide. Have you read the manual? Can you find the manual?
2. Search the forums (and search the web) for similar topics.
3. Do not post the same question on multiple forums.
4. Do not post a new topic or question on someone else's thread, start a new thread!

6 "It does not work" is not a question which can be answered. Provide useful details (with webpage, datasheet links, please).

Forget Zync - I'm still miffed that my local distributor doesn't stock any Vertex parts :(

OK, the fuzzy logic text match needs an upgrade:

  • all occurrences of 'Vertex' will match with "Virtex".
  • all occurrences of 'Spratan' will match with 'Spartan'.

Thanks for the reminder, Joelby!

Hello Bob,

Sorry for the delay on this....

Just wanted to confirm that your idea of "Thynq Zynq" has been forwarded to the Marketing folks here. If they take it on, I'll make sure you get the T-shirt! I am sure it would be very tasteful! ;-)

On a serious note, I have also asked the web team to ensure that the mis-spellings of Zynq are indeed included in the synonymns file for search appliance.

Regards,

Caroline.

I suspect I may be waiting a looooong time for my T-shirt.

Hopefully this helps.  Thanks, Caroline.  I've marked your followup as the solution for this thread.

Re: Zynq®: too clever?

I just spell checked a message about the Zynq, and Zynq is not in the site spell checker. It suggests "Zany". :-)
