If you are looking to find out about the capabilities for the dynamic partial reconfiguration of Xilinx FPGAs, check out this page:  http://www.xilinx.com/tools/partial-reconfiguration.htm

All the current Virtex devices (V4 through V7) plus all 7 series devices support this capability.  In terms of making this process "automatic", that's up to you the designer to program the system to know when the partial reconfiguration actions are required.
