Hi Everyone,
I want to install ISE 11.4 and ModelSim 6.5 to my Windows 7 64 bit pc. As far as I know, Windows 7 support is provided with ISE 13.x . For that reason, I am planning to install ISE by using virtual machine. Windows 7 includes XP mode which is 32 bit virtual machine. Are there anyone who already tested this solution? Any suggestion.
Thanks

Good news and bad news.
(a) I have ise 10.1 running xp mode (vm) on windows 7 - 64 bit machine. Builds no problem.
(b) Bad news is the xilinx jtag usb programmer is not seen by impact or xp device manager.
In XP - VM mode I have the xilinx usb "attahced". The device is seen in Windows 7 but also does not work (I have ISE 13.1 loaded on windows 7).
Been fighting for a couple days...

I would install the latest lab tools (i.e. 14.1 lab tools) natively on win7-64 bit OS and use that to program the device.
