I've installed and updated Webpack 11.1 on Windows 7 RC 32-bit. I know Windows 7 is not officially supported yet, but surely Webpack can be used by now?
ISE Project Navigator opens fine, I created a little Verilog project targeting XC3S50A, it synthesizes fine, but Map says "ERROR:Security:9 - No 'ISE' nor 'WebPack' feature was available for part". License Manager says I've got Webpack licensed. Everything's installed in the standard way, webpack.lic is in C:\.Xilinx. Rebooted, looked at the webpack.lic file, it all looks good.
Help? Thanks!

Try setting your XILINXD_LICENSE_FILE environment variable to C:\.Xilinx\webpack.lic and see if this has an effect.

Thanks for the quick response, David. No effect.
I'll try re-installing.

Nope. Uninstalled, reinstalled extra carefully, still the same behavior - no license at map.
Also I clicked that "answered" icon thinking it had a "no" choice. Not answered.
I appreciate whatever ideas anyone has, thanks.

Hi Mike,
Are you running the tools in a special environment, i.e. via Remote Desktop?
Can you send me the license file and I'll try it out here to make sure it works?
It could just be an issue with the licensing software on the unsupported OS.

Hi David,
Yes, I was using Remote Desktop from my Mac. I'll try it again direct.
(For the moment I've lost access to the Windows side. I had a dual-boot with Linux and I goofed up the boot loader.)
Thanks again.

For the record, I reinstalled WebPack 11.1 in person directly, not thru Remote Desktop, and it all works fine. I'll report on RDC, which David's helping on, later. Thanks David!

Final resolution: the trouble was using WebPack thru Remote Desktop Connection. It all works fine using the machine in person. Thanks again to David for your help!
