XAPP859 on ML605

As mentioned in XAPP859, the demo is design by Virtex-5 FPGA . But now I want to modify the XAPP859 design by using

Virtex-6 ML605 to suit my project requirements. I don‘t know which PCIe LogiCore to choose. I have ISE version 12.4 and

13.2 , and my ML605 board has the production silicon.

What else do I have to notice besides the LogiCore?

Hi,

You should check, whether XAPP1022 and/or XAPP1052 cover what you want to evaluate. This example designs have been updated to V6.

I'v tried XAPP1052 in the beginning. But now I need DDRs for storing DMA data in my project. I am a newbie and I think

modify XAPP859 is an easier and quicker way.

I'm working on it just now, it;'s not particularly difficult. The testbench requires slightly more work to modify than the actual instantiation of the core because the interface changed quite a lot. I ended up using the root port model testbench from UG517. Check the migration considerations section of UG517 for the modifications to the core interface. I haven't got the DDR interface working yet so can't comment on that.

I also need to do data transfer from host pc to ddr3 through pcie. since i'm a beginner in doing this kind of design, I don't know what kind of modification should be done with the xapp859. BTW, I'm also working in ML605.
