Re: Prom XC17xx for LCA XC2018

What's your power supply voltage?  If you're running these dinosaurs on +5V

you may not find too many "more recent" parts.  Most of the newer parts top

out at 3.3V

For 3.3V, you might find something close from Atmel if they still make the 17LVxx series.  Otherwise

if you don't need pin compatible your best bet is to use a XCF0xS "PlatformFlash" which is re-programmable

and much cheaper than the old 17xx parts.

Re: Prom XC17xx for LCA XC2018

Many Thanks,

the problem is the supply: 5 volt.

The pin to pin compatibility isn't a problem.

Atmel make something at 5 volt?

Thanks

Re: Prom XC17xx for LCA XC2018

It's not easy to find on the Atmel site.  Go to digikey.com and search

for "AT17LV".  Then click on Memory - FPGA Configuration.  Then you can

select just parts that can run on 5V.  There are a number of AT17LVxx parts

still available, including some in PLCC packages.  They are not cheap,

though so I wouldn't recommend it for a new design.  However I suspect

that using an ancient part like the XC2000 series would not be for a new

design.  They should be pin compatible with the original XC17xx parts

in the same package.

[ Edited ]

hello,

I'm a Portuguese person,...

MAybe U can use the XC1736EPDG8C (5Volt) prom, it's not hard to find, and u can be buy it on RS components:

http://pt.rs-online.com/web/search/searchBrowseAction.html?method=searchProducts&searchTerm=xc1736

This RS vendor also has the XC1701PD8C 1Mx1b configuration prom

Re: Prom XC17xx for LCA XC2018

The XC2000 series was discontinued in 1996.  It was an early SRAM-based FPGA, so I would

say it's "infinitely reprogrammable."

However were you really asking if the XC17xx PROMs are re-programmable?  Those devices are

made with a UV-erasable EPROM process, so without a quartz window on the package they are one-time

programmable.
