Simulation and Verification

Dear all,

I am trying to search and download the free edition for studetns of modelsim...

But I cannot find it on xilinx website.

Has Xilinx stopped given the modelsim.

I am using ISE 13.2 and need modelsim to be above 6.5 since it is used for 4dsp kit.

I cannot do that with ISIM.

Please help. It is very very urgetnt. if you can provide me with link I will be more than thankful.

Also is PE better or XE or SE, please if possible send the link for all of them (if free, since I cannot buy one bcz of shortage of time, but also send the link for paid license one as I will buy it later if free edition is no use)

Call Mentor Graphics for ModelSim support. It's their product.

But I get to know that PE does not support mixed language support, my design in verilog, while Steller IP generate VHDL files...
so I need something suitable for that purpose...

Can you guide me in the following: I am copying it from the tutorial of the Stellar IP:

Modelsim is required in order to simulate projects created by StellarIP and compiled using Xilinx tools. Different simulators can be used to simulate the design, but the various Modelsim macros (compile.do) should be rewritten in consequence.

So can do you knwo how to do that... or guide me a way atleast

Again, you should CALL Mentor Graphics and describe what you're trying to do and what they recommend that you buy in order to do it.

Warning: your pockets will need to be rather deep.

The problem is my pocket is deep or not I do not know since I work as RA in lab and perhaps professor might agree or not, but the issue is time is much less for me to do and the best thing I think is make conversion for .do file

Dear Raza,

                      Xilinx has provided model Sim till version 9 after that u will not get it but the default simulator is ISIM, u have to buy modelSim student editiion PE but SE supports all... an evaluation version is available but that I think Mentor willl not provide u as I am the same victim...of it...All I can say u is that you try ur design with ISIM as I am successful with it...

To add-on, Xilinx never provided any Modelsim Versions other than Modelsim XE (Xilinx Edition) but that ceased to be supported from Dec 2010 (http://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/customer_notices/xcn10028.pdf). So, if you want to download PE Student Edition, visit Mentor at http://model.com/content/modelsim-pe-student-edition-hdl-simulation?quicktabs_4=1#quicktabs-4. You would find a link to download the package over there.
