Hi,
I'm using ML501 board. The FPGA is Vertex-5 XC5VLX50-FFG676. I want to test the PCIe on my Vertex-5 but apparently this core is not supported by my chosen part (Xilinx Core generator).
Can I use other core or solution on my FPGA. I need the PCIe. Please help me
Regards,
Jheison Mejia

There are no MGTs in a 5VLX50 device, so it is not possible to implement PCIe. You need a different device.

Hi mcgett,
Didn't exist another solution with ML501 Board to use a high speed interface :(
Maybe use the PCI Express, Rev. 1.0a or 1.1 with Protocol Data Rates Supported 2.5 Gb/s.
I'm using the Xilinx ISE Design Suite 13.4, in old versions maybe exist a core that support my FPGA

A board can only do what it has been design to do and a part can only do what it has been designed to do. The 5VLX50 part that is on the ML501 does not have any MGTs in the part so there is no capability to operate at 2.5 Gbps.
You need to select a different board and part that does support PCIe such as the ML505, ML506, ML507, SP605, ML605, KC705 or VC707.
