Evalboard with ADC

Hello,

for my master thesis I'm looking for a FPGA-evalboard with the following features:

- 2 ADC-inputs

- 1 DAC-output

- picoblaze support

- prize shouldn't be too high (preferable <500$)

I found an evalboard of NU Horizon with a spartan3 (NH-SPAR3ADSP-EVL), but it is not availible any more (I cannot find any distributor...)

Does anyone have any idea ?

Thx for your help

Benny

Re: Evalboard with ADC

Benny,

I would suggest that you take a look at the Advanced Boards and Kits Search page: http://www.xilinx.com/products/boards-and-kits/boardsearch.htm

Here you can enter your criteria and browse suitable boards before making a decision.

Re: Evalboard with ADC

Is this what you had in mind?

More boards and choices on the same website.

Re: Evalboard with ADC

@jeaniel:

Already tried it, but without any helpful results....

@ eteam00:

I already took a look at this homepage, but didn't find a board which does match my requirements (the board you propose doesn't have any ADC inputs)

the board I mentioned is the following

Any other suggestions?

Thx

You are mistaken.  Look again.  You may have to open up the schematics or the user guide.  This takes more effort than browsing the feature list summarised on the product webpage, but your effort will be rewarded.

By the way, every Xilinx FPGA -- from Spartan-3 to present -- will support PicoBlaze.

Re: Evalboard with ADC

As Bob's signature says, not all ADC's and DAC's are the same.  The board you can no longer find

has a LTC2285, a 14 bit 125 MSPS ADC, which is not at all what you're likely to find on a low-priced

eval board.

For more help, you should tell us what you plan to do with the ADC and DAC, at least what you

require for a sample rate and resolution.

The ADC should have a samplerate > 50 MSPS  and a resolution of at least 12 bit ....

The requirements for the DAC aren't that high ; only will be used for audio verifications (so an audio output would be sufficent...)

And I have to correct myself, I forgot to write that I need a DSP Slice to simplify the signal processing...(i know that virtex/spartan 4+  support it)

Re: Evalboard with ADC

The leading players in ADCs and DACs -- in this performance range -- are Analog Devices and TI.  Both of them have a line of FMC-compliant evaluation cards.  There are a number of Xilinx FPGA development boards which accept FMC daughter cards.  You should be able to find what you are looking for, but the cost will likely exceed your budget.
