suitable development kit, V4sx55 or v5, 4*14-bit ADC and 128Mb with 32-bit memory

Dear everyone,

I need some help. I need a development kit including v4-sx55 or v5, at least 4*14bit ADCs with about 100MSPS and I need it has at least 128Mbit RAM with 32-bit length (for example, 4*32Mbit is also acceptable). the problem is that I don't know how to find it. I mean, should I find it as a single board, or find different parts seperately? If I find them seperately, how can I check if they match each other?

If you know some useful sites which have these kind of boards, or have some experience about my problem, please just let me know. any help will be appreciated.

Regards,

Ghasem

It might be difficult to find one board that integrates the ADC, so consider getting a Virtex board with an FMC connector, and buy an ADC on an FMC card. Linear sell a bunch of demo boards with FMC, and they certainly have one that exceeds your specifications somewhere in the LTC217x series.

Re: suitable development kit, V4sx55 or v5, 4*14-bit ADC and 128Mb with 32-bit memory

Thank you for your help.

I could find an FMC module which has 4ADC as I need (FMC104). The problem is the main board. I mean, I could find just a few boards supporting FMC connector, but they much exceed my spec. I need some boards that approximately match my requirements.

Are there other kinds of daughter cards that I can use them? I mean, something other than FMC. I have no insight about these kind of things. Thanks again.

Maybe, but probably not. FMC is the most popular standard. Some other manufacturers have their own expansion board standards, but I don't think I've seen any with the sort of ADC you require. You could also consider designing your own - I built a VHDCI expansion board with a 4 channel 65 MSPS ADC for the Digilent Atlys dev board. In retrospect my time would have been better spent buying a more expensive dev board with FMC and getting on with my work though!

I think the cheapest Xilinx board with FMC LPC is the SP601. Is that sufficient for you? I don't think you'll regret buying the best development board you can afford, even if you don't think you'll use everything it has now - I've got a box filled with superseded boards that didn't quite do everything I needed them to do!

Thanks again for replying me.

Unfortunately SP601 doesn't meet my requirement, but I have found two other boards that meet my requirements. They are the products of other companies named pentek and 4DSP.

Anyway, thanks for spending your time on reading my post and helping me.

Wish you best.
