Re: Booting ZCU-102 from SD Card

Richard,

As far I know,  the system boots up and has a login terminal.   It means that it loads SDCard and passed the FSBL.  My student also had a bit of better luck with it and able to mount SD card, But no graphical interface.   It is a brand new board that I purchased in late December.

Hope this helps!

D

Re: Booting ZCU-102 from SD Card

New ZCU102 board MUST use the 2018.3 FSBL.

2018.1 FSBL won't boot.

Re: Booting ZCU-102 from SD Card

Hi

2018.3-zcu102-release is working fine on my zcu102 EVB,

And i do see the serial i/f connected and working,

Now where can I download an ubuntu pre-built, img based on 2018.3,

(Like ZCU102_Ubuntu_2.img that doesent work on my EVB  from: https://xilinx-wiki.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/A/pages/18841948/Zynq+UltraScalePlus+MPSoC+-+Ubuntu+Desktop+Step+by+Step+Guide)

So i can run Ubuntu Graphic Desktop using the DisplayPort ?

Thanks

Eli

Re: Booting ZCU-102 from SD Card

I suggest you ask the Embedded OS forum. I am not aware of 2018.3 pre-build images available yet for ubuntu.

Re: Booting ZCU-102 from SD Card

Hi dtyu

Probably the mouse and keyboard are not working because you have to set the jumper J7. It's open by default but when you connect it you get the USB HOST/OTG functionality, as described in UG1182.

Re: Booting ZCU-102 from SD Card

I really feel like this kind of SODIMM change should be advertised explicitly to people who have bought the newer boards.

The company I work for recently bought the ZCU102 as a temporary dev board and it has taken me 3 days to find this information, and debug why my board wasn't booting.

This should be prominently displayed on the master debug page (https://www.xilinx.com/support/answers/68386.html) and not just mentioned on the "Known Bugs" list, buried amongst the other problems.

At the very least there should be somewhere to list which versions of vivado explicitly WON'T work with the board in some capacity.

Re: Booting ZCU-102 from SD Card

@dawalters  - thanks for the input.  I have requested AR68386 and AR 69837 (for the ZCU106, also affected by the DIMM change) be updated to show the solutions for the DIMM.   Those pages should go live in a couple of days as they ripple through our system.
