Programming Linux .img file into Xilinx SoC eMMC via JTAG

Jump to solution

Hello everyone,

how can I programm the eMMC or the QSPI flash of my Xilinx Ultracale+ MPSoC with a .img file using Xilinx SmartLynq (=JTAG)?
The .img file includes the gnu/linux stuff and the bitstream. It was created using buildroot.

Is there an easy way to do this? Is it possible to use the Hardware Manager from Vivado?

Vivado HW Manager only handles .BIN and .MCS files (not .img).

I found this for eMMC https://www.xilinx.com/support/answers/67157.html but maybe the Embedded SW forum might have other solutions.

I never saw .img used for QSPI in the Xilinx solution.
