from the forum and AR #21790 I learned that the Signal Processing Toolbox as well as the Signal Processing Blockset is needed to run the FDAtool in the Xilinx Blockset (sysgen).
Are there any other known dependencies to Matlab/Simulink toolboxes or blocksets?
Why isn't this mentioned in the installation requirements for the system generator tool?

The SysGen User Guide states "The Xilinx FDATool block provides an interface to the FDATool software available as part of the MATLAB Signal Processing Toolbox." Do you think it should state something in addition to that?

I definitely think so, because that information is wrong in two ways, refering to UG638 (v11.3) September 16, 2009.
First, it's the Reference Guide, not the User Guide.
Second, we have the Signal Processing Toolbox, but when you try to drop the FDAtool Block in a new Model an error dialog appears, telling you that the Signal Processing Toolbox AND the Signal Processing Blockset have to be installed (which we don't have).
Furthermore one would expect such information to be found also in the Release Notes or the Installation Guide.
System administrators actually read these to ensure a fully working installation, but they don't read hundreds of pages of User/Reference Guides.
Even AR #17966 that lists all needed Software down to the supported OS Versions does not mention Toolset/Blockset dependencies.
Once stumbled over this issue we got worried that there may be even more dependencies, yet unknown to us.
So we want to be sure before ordering something.
Another annoying point is that in the meantime Matlab 2010a has already been released but even ISE12.1 officially just supports the 2009a/b versions of Matlab. So we have to convince TheMathworks to sell us the Blockset license for an outdated version which will not make things cheaper.
Therefore the late knowledge of the facts above not only costs us time but also extra money .
(Bad luck that we fell into this version gap, will ISE 12.2 support Matlab 2010a?)
