How to install DNNDK

When  I  follow with DNNDK user's guide and run ./install.sh, it failed like this:

root@zcu104:/mnt/dnndk/deephi_dnndk_v2.07_beta/ZCU104# ./install.sh
Begin to install DeePhi DNNDK ...
Install DeePhi DPU Driver ...
[ 138.708914] dpu: version magic '4.14.0+ SMP mod_unload aarch64' should be '4.14.0 SMP mod_unload aarc
modprobe: can't load module dpu (extra/dpu.ko): invalid module format
Installation failed!

How can I fix the error?

@herryinstall.sh is targetted to run on your Ubuntu machine in order to install DNNDK.  You would later copy specific files over to your ZCU104 in order to deploy the network.  That is why the driver install is complaining that the architecture is incorrect "aarch64" versus ARM.

@qhall, I think @herry is trying to install the DNNDK target side package.  When running on the host x86 CPU, it fails and states it can only be installed on ARM:

(base) jchang@x86:~/Downloads/deephi_dnndk_v2.07_beta/ZCU104$ ./install.sh
Begin to install DeePhi DNNDK ...
DeePhi DNNDK package could only be installed on ARM targets.
Please contact dnndk-support@deephi.com for more help.
Terminate installation ...
Installation failed!

I am targeting a ZCU102, which should be similar to the ZCU104.  Installing it on the ZCU102 works:

root@xlnx:/home/linaro/deephi_dnndk_v2.07_beta/ZCU102# ./install.sh
Begin to install DeePhi DNNDK ...
Install DeePhi DPU Driver ...
[ 3874.527618] [DPU][3596]Checking DPU signature at addr = 0x8ff00000,
[ 3874.534177] [DPU][3596]DPU signature checking done!
Install DeePhi tools, runtime & libraries ...
Complete installation successfully.

@jchang_endiag@herry  of course re-reading this thread I see that you are 100% correct.  My apologies.  Unfortunately I do not have a board available here to test with at this time.

I am hopefully that @shu.ai_zh or @aluo can comment further.

How did you operate? Copy the ZCU104 folder to the ZCU104 board and run the install directly?Do you have to upgrade the image ? The document says that to download the new image, I downloaded the image, but I don’t know how to use .

Hi,

After downloading the image, please burn the image file into SD card using dd command or win32diskimager. After boot the board, please copy the DNNDK package on to the board and than run install.sh.

Please note the driver only support image downloaded from our website.

If there is further question, please let us know.

Regards,

SHUAI

Please check following information:

the name of image file: 2018-10-11-ZCU104-desktop-stretch.img

DNNDK package: deephi_dnndk_v2.07_beta.tar

After burn the SD card using win32diskimager and boot the board, please scp the package to board, extract package and use ZCU104 install.sh.

If error still exist, please show the error log.

Thank you!
