AXI traffic generator Basic mode example design

Dear Forum,

I am trying to understand AXI traffic generator Basic mode, by analyzing example design.

In the example design the traffic generator is being configured by S_AXI port, and this is the waveform:

Can you please help understand what addresses are: 00008000, 00008004, 00008008, 0000800c, 00009000, 00009004, 00009008,….

I was expecting that the programming sequence would be like in users doc “Advanced/Basic Mode with Processor” section of “Programing Sequence”. However seems no.

Can someone please explain these waves and the AXI basic mode configuration flow.

Thanks

Hayk

Hi @hayk.petr

This is Gareth and I moderate the AXI Infrastructure board. I am sorry that this was not picked up and I will address this in the future.

I am not an expert on the AXI TG IP but I have taking a look at the documentation and I would like to understand more what is the misunderstanding. From my understanding in Advanced/Basic there is a CMDRAM/MSTRAM write and read transaction. See below:

Now looking at the Address Map I can see that the CMDRAM address range is located at 0x00008000 to 0x00009FFF and the MSTRAM is 0x0000C000 to 0x0000DFFF.
In your waveform you can see the s_axi_awaddr is 0x00008000 which would be a write to the CMDRAM and then 0x000C000 which is a write to the MSTRAM.

Please let me know if I have missed something and we can continue this discussion.

Gareth
