Webinar: Verify Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC System Performance with MATLAB and Simulink

The Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC revolutionized RF and wireless systems by introducing a programmable device with integrated RF data converters. Traditionally, the RF design world and digital design worlds were separated - only connected by a JESD204 interface. Neither digital nor RF engineers needed or cared much about the other domain. That has changed now that the Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC has brought them together in one device; increasingly, it will be critical that RF engineers understand more of the digital domain and vice-versa. To help engineers learn to work across both domains, Avnet and Mathworks are introducing a series of training and tools that target the Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC.

 

In this webinar, Avnet and Mathworks will demonstrate new tools that enable MATLAB and Simulink connection via Ethernet to the Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC. This greatly simplifies the implementation of a real-world radio, both in transmit and receive and in system simulation and characterization. The new tools allow engineers to easily configure both the digital and RF sections of the Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC 8x8 (XCZU28DR) device and subsequently measure and characterize RF/system performance. In the webinar, engineers will demonstrate 1) how to define RF test criteria for the Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC, 2) how to connect MATLAB and Simulink tools to the evaluation hardware, and 3) how to analyze and characterize the system. Ultimately, these tools can be used to enable system and algorithm engineers to evaluate architectures and algorithms quickly in a real-world radio environment.
