Alveo U50 No card is found!

Hi,

I am trying to setup Alveo U50 in my workstation.

OS is RHEL 8.3

I installed xrt and platforms for setup. But I can’t scan and see the U50 board.

Any suggestions?

$sudo lspci -vd 10ee:
[sudo] password for xxx:

Subsystem: Xilinx Corporation Device 000e

$ sudo /opt/xilinx/xrt/bin/xbutil validate -d 0
ERROR: Card[0] not found
$ sudo /opt/xilinx/xrt/bin/xbmgmt flash --scan
No card is found!

Thanks,

Hi @gi4you ,

Based on the lspci output, the drivers aren't in use - the last two lines of the lspci output should be:
Kernel driver in use: xclmgmt
Kernel modules: xclmgmt

Do you have the log of the XRT installation? There may be errors that don't cause the XRT installation to fail out.

I should also note that 8.3 isn't yet supported by the XRT tools (OS support is listed on page 5 of the XRT 2020.2 release notes). Also using a U50 in a workstation is not recommended due to the low airflow - the card may overheat and be damaged.

Regards,
~John
