How to support the latest xilinx_u280_xdma_201920_1 shell for U280 in SDAccel?

After I updated  my U280 card to the latest shell xilinx_u280_xdma_201920_1, I can't find the corresponding hardware platforms in SDx v2019.1.3. There is a file named xilinx_u280_xdma_201920_1.xsa on my computer, but it can't be recognized by SDx. Is there any way to solve this problem?

Hi @jjlei 

The 201920_1 shell will be found in the 2019.2 tools. 

The 2019.1 tools do not recognize that shell and those tools were not designed to work together. 

SDx, SDAccel, SDSoC were combined beginning in 2019.2 into one software called Vitis. 

Either download Vitis and use the 201920_1 shell or go to the shell archive and use the 2019.1 shell.

The 201920_1 shell will be found in the 2019.2 tools. 

The 2019.1 tools do not recognize that shell and those tools were not designed to work together. 

SDx, SDAccel, SDSoC were combined beginning in 2019.2 into one software called Vitis. 

Either download Vitis and use the 201920_1 shell or go to the shell archive and use the 2019.1 shell.

Thanks for your reply. Would you please tell me the key difference between these two shells? I noticed some performance difference when they run the xbutil validate command.

Hi @jjlei 

Main difference is hardware emulation support works with 201920_1 shell and not with the 201910_1 shell in Vitis. 

There are small hardware updates also. 

What performance differences are you seeing ?

Hi @mcertosi 

Below is what I see. When running xbutil validate command, the 201910_1 shell performs stably, with the bandwidth between host and FPGA (PCIe 3×16) greater than 10 GB/s. But for the 201920_1 shell, the bandwidth got is below 9 GB/s for most time.
