I need help in identifying the file format of this code. I have to include it in Xilinx project but don't know which format/extension should be assigned to it. I am new to cpld.

Where did you get this file from?

What was the original file name when you got it?

The time stamp seems to indicate that it's about 8 years old, meaning that

it's very likely to be in a format no longer supported by the newest tools.

If I had to guess, I'd say it looks like a third-party (possibly ViewDraw?) schematic

format.  In any case it only seems to have the graphic information for a symbol

but nothing of the actual logic description of the module that the symbol represents.

I wouldn't think that this file by itself would describe something you can add to

a project.
