Incorrect bitstream assigned to device & ERROR: [Common 17-39] 'program_hw_devices' failed due to earlier errors

Hi,

I am using zynq ultrascale+ mpsoc board [Part number : xczu19eg-ffvd1760-3-e (active)] and running the design [contains zynq processor IP and 10/25G Ethernet subsystem IP] in Vivado 2018.2.

Bitstream is completed but when trying to see the output in ila its showing an error "ERROR: [Common 17-39] 'program_hw_devices' failed due to earlier errors", while programming the hardware device.

Please suggest me why such problem is occurring.

Hi @thaus_015,

When you created your Vivado project, what part did you select? This should match the part that you are trying to program.

For example, when connected to my ZCU102 (which uses a zu9 part) I see the part identify itself as a zu9 in my hardware manager:

Your hardware manager is also identifying your part as a zu9, however it appears as though you've selected a zu19 part from your post. Make sure your part settings match the part you are trying to program. You can change the part setting in Settings > General > Project device:

Hope this helps!

Thanks,

Clayton
