Abnormal program termination (11) Vivado 2020.2

Hi all,

We are facing segmentation fault with Vivado 2020.2. I am attaching all files needed to check and reproduce the issue. Where gittest.zip contains the project we are trying to build.

Vivado was installed using docker 19.03.8 where host and guest OSes are Ubuntu 20.04 (64-bit). Associated Dockerfile is also in gittest.zip.

Do anyone succeeded running Vivado with such a setup? Or any idea how to solve this issue?

Thanks in advance and regards,

Fabrice

PS: Everything works fine if we use Virtualbox instead of Docker!

HI @nansi ,

Vivado has not been tested and is not supported on Docker. It may be possible to get it to work in this environment but if you experience issues which are not seen on the supported platforms then they will not be fixed.

For a list of supported OS / platforms please refer to User Guide 973:

https://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/sw_manuals/xilinx2020_2/ug973-vivado-release-notes-install-license.pdf#_OPENTOPIC_TOC_PROCESSING_d114e2223

As a test I ran the gittest.zip file supplied on Ubuntu and it created the project and block design without error.
