How do I find out what version of Foundation was used for a legacy design?

Hello,

I have inherited a legacy design with no documentation.  Is there a way to determine what version of Foundation was used for design?

Thanks!

You can probably find traces of the tool revisions in the various report files.  For example here's

the first lines of a bitgen report (project_name.bgn) from a Foundation 4.1i project:

Release 4.1.03i - Bitgen E.33
Copyright (c) 1995-2001 Xilinx, Inc.  All rights reserved.

Thanks Gabor.  Mine doesn't seem to give me that information:

BITGEN: Xilinx Bitstream Generator C.16

You still get some information from the copyright dates and the C.16 version,

but you'd need that translated into a Foundation revision.  I'm going to guess

this was built using Foundation 2.1 because I have files built with 2.1

that look like:

BITGEN: Xilinx Bitstream Generator C.19
Copyright (c) 1995-1999 Xilinx, Inc.  All rights reserved.

which is close to your revision, possibly just a service pack.  Here's

another piece of a report from that project:

Xilinx Floorplanner Netlist Translation Utility
n2f Version 2.1i

Thanks Gabor.  I'll start with versions around there until I get something compatible.
