How propagate parameter from sub IP Core to UI Laout of my packed IP core.

I have a packed IP core inside which I have a fft core from xilinx. I want to be able to change the NFFT parameter "CONFIG.transform_length <value>" of the fft core by my wrapper IP core.

How can I wrap a xilinx sub IP parameter in a packed top-level IP?

P.S. : " I just want to add an data converter for fft before xilinx fft IP written in Verilog. But I want to be able to change NFFT in the future. In the future, I think to use several ftt and the NFFT parameter they must have in common. And change at the same time from wrapper IP UI"

I tried to add the following line to "xgui\IPC_BDFile_wrapper_v1_0.tcl":

But it throws Java exception...

...
#Adding Page
  ipgui::add_page $IPINST -name "Page 0"

  ipgui::add_param $IPINST -name "NFFT" -widget comboBox

}

proc update_PARAM_VALUE.NFFT { PARAM_VALUE.NFFT } {
	# Procedure called to update NFFT when any of the dependent parameters in the arguments change
	set_property CONFIG.transform_length &PARAM_VALUE.NFFT [get_ips IPC_BDFile_xfft_0_0]
}

proc validate_PARAM_VALUE.NFFT { PARAM_VALUE.NFFT } {
...

@mr.ex

Parameter propagation from top level to hierarchical IP is currently not supported in Vivado. We do have a roadmap to include this feature.

As workaround, You can also try to edit the package IP and manually change the static generic value in wrapper file to customizable generics. Now use Import parameters and Import IP ports options to merge the changes in IP packager.

Please have a look at the following forum post:
