How to know a repository of IP? What's the TCL command to report it?

Jump to solution

Hi All,

How could I know a physical repository location of IP?

Is there a TCL command, which might be used to report a repository location of IP in Block Design?

Thank you!

Hi @dmitry1417,

To know the repository of an IP if you know its name in the IP calatalog (example with the Xilinx IP DisplayPort 7.0):

get_property REPOSITORY [get_ipdefs *displayport:7*]

If you want to get it using the IP name from the BD:

get_property REPOSITORY [get_ipdefs [get_property IPDEF [get_ips *MYDP_RX*]]]

Is it what you need?

Regards,

Florent

@dmitry1417,

The below command will display the repository location:

get_property  ip_repo_paths  [current_project]

--Syed

Hi @dmitry1417,

Could also be:

get_property IP_DIR [get_ips *IP_NAME*]

The get_property IP_DIR [get_ips *IP_NAME*] gives the IP location in the Block Design.. But actually the IP is located (and packed to) another directory outside of the project - it was just added to the Block Design.

I'm actually need to know/report what's the original location of the IP. So, how to report it? How to report the repository where the IP was packed to?
