Is is allow to have spaces in path names in windows?

I use Vivado as programming software to program Basys 3. But my university lectuerer said, that i cannot use spaces instead use _ to replace spaces, but i didn't because it will become a hassle to reorganize a whole file system...

In 2020, whitespaces in file paths really shouldnt matter - but they still cause problems.

Use _ instead of space.

Hi @zaahm18

Yes this is mentioned in UG973:

If you do not follow this you might face unpredictible bahaviour.

You do not have to re-organize the full file system. Just work at the root of your driver and if you need just map a new drive at a specified directory.

@zaahm18,

I have the same opinion as @richardhead

It is just a bad practice (and many seasoned engineers would tell you the same).
