Queues in synthesis or implementation

I'm using Vivado 2018.3 in Project mode.

There are multiple Runs in one project, with different constraints and strategies.

If I select several Runs at once and launch them with Job number set to 1, then they will be put in queue and processed one by one. It is expected and preferred behavior for me.

But if I already has one Job running, I can't add another Runs to this queue, only create another one, so there will be 2 Jobs running simultaneously. This will eat all memory and CPU cores, it is not usable.

So the question is - can I add Runs to already created queue?

Re: Queues in synthesis or implementation

Hi @g.pavlikh ,

You cannot add a newly created run to current queue but you can choose the option "Do not launch now" while creating the new run.

Now the run will be created but it won't be launched. You can schedule the newly created run to launch just after the previous runs queue finishes through tcl command. Suppose the new run is "impl_8" and the last run queued is "impl_7", you can use the tcl command : wait_on_run impl_7; launch_runs impl_8.
