Hi,

its kind of simple.

But please make a backup of the original project or work on a copy of it in a different directory.

After opening the project select from the menu Project -> Design Properties.

This opens a dialog, where you can change the target device.

Now there ar some things you have to consider:

1) Your new target device is significantly smaller than the old one. Does the design still fit?

(OK, you might find out by runnning the implementation flow)

2) Are the pin locations still the same? Check your UCF file.

You may have to take a look at the datasheets and the board schematics too to find out about neccessary changes.

If everythig is ok, you can simply start the Generate Programming File process, and there goes the flow...

Have a nice synthesis

Hi Eilert,

Thanks for your prompt response. Really appreciated it.

As you expected, the design is too large for the devices. The design occurred an error at the "implement design" stage.

Error : Pack 2270 - too many comps of type RAMB16 found to fit this device.

Error: Map:115 - the design is too large to fit the device.

Realized that the number of used as RAMB16s(73) exceeds from available number in the device (72).

Thanks again for the great information. Appreciated it.
