Vivado is new IDE launched by Xilinx, what is the main difference between it and ISE?

Hi,

there's a number of points to mention.

Vivado

- handles only  Series 7 devices (S7,V7,Zync)

- supports C-synthesis (in the System Edition)

- has a new deterministic Place and Route Algorithm.

You find all this and more mentioned in the product brief and introduction videos.

Agreed with eilert, also the synthesis engine are completely different.

To summary, Vivado Design Edition does not have HLS and System Generator.
