Simultaneous Switching Noise for Spartan 7 in Vivado 2018.3

Hi,

I am developing a project using Vivado 2018.3 and the xc7s75fgga484 part number  (Spartan 7) as target device. I noted that the SSN analysis should be performed in Vivado running the Report Noise after Synthesy step but this feature is not allowed for my part number.

PlanAhead is the proper tool to perform that analysis but I know it is installed together with ISE that does not support Spartan 7.

If my explanation above is correct, how can I perform the SSN for my target device?

Regards

Graziano R.

Re: Simultaneous Switching Noise for Spartan 7 in Vivado 2018.3

Hi,

thank you for your support.

I read that guide but when I select that part number, the report noise is not present in Vivado option menu.

Moreover I inserted the folllowing tcl command (see attached image):

report_ssn
ERROR: [Coretcl 2-1476] SSN analysis is not available on xc7s75fgga484-1 part.

that confirm that the SSN is not supported for the part number above.

Re: Simultaneous Switching Noise for Spartan 7 in Vivado 2018.3

that sound slike a bug then

Sorry I not  in a position to check here,

Im hoping a mod will pick this up soon.

You can do it the old way , pencil and paper as per the guide, but I see your point, it should work.
