VHDL Code Folding in Vivado 2019.2 ?

Just updated to Vivado 2019.2, and now finding that folding options for my VHDL code seem to be impaired:

Many of the same code segments, e.g., a PROCESS block, which offers the (+) / (-) controls under 2018.3 come up with no such controls under 2019.2.  (Interesting that some, though, such as comment blocks, do still offer the folding option.)

Is this an optional setting somewhere in the IDE?  (Been hunting, but no luck yet ...)

Many thanks,

Joseph

Re: VHDL Code Folding in Vivado 2019.2 ?

I had faced similar issue on vivado 2019.2 on windows 10.

Although, better idea would be to integrate notepad++ in vivado which offers extra features which makes coding easier. To do that first add notepadd++ to environment variable and go to setting in vivado . There you'll find Text Editor , then select Notepad++ as current editor.

Re: VHDL Code Folding in Vivado 2019.2 ?

Very nice, many thanks @himalayan_fpga!!

In addition to folding, I especially appreciate being able to easily edit in larger windows, and to "tear off" individual files onto another screen ...

Thanks again!

Joseph

Re: VHDL Code Folding in Vivado 2019.2 ?

Additinally, Most benefitial feature I find is to be able to select vertically pressing (alt+shift+click). Just this function has tremendous utility in hdl coding if you explore quite a bit. Also if you press (alt+c) selecting vertically, this will add ability to insert numbers incrementally by column. I simply cannot survive without this feature. Plus Compare plugin is cool too.
