ZC706 boot from SD card

Hi

I would like to test the read_to_test image based XAPP 1082 on :

https://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/application_notes/xapp1082-zynq-eth.pdf

Under the read_to_test folder, there are two files: BOOT.BIN and image.ub, which I need put it on SD card

of ZC706 board, so I have two questions:

1. I just put this two files to SD card? Which folder? Or I need create .gz file?

2. Can I use 1.0GB SandDisk for ZC706 board?

Thanks

Re: ZC706 boot from SD card

Both BOOT.BIN and image.ub are needed.

1.0GB SandDisk is OK.

Re: ZC706 boot from SD card

Yes, I have right setting, I did sd card partition, put boot.bin and image.ub on fat sector, rootfs.cpio on second sector, the system booted up, but not working as expected, just wondering rootfs.cpio is necessary for 2017.4?

thanks

Re: ZC706 boot from SD card

Hi ,

No need to copy rootfs.cpio in 2nd partition. BOOT.BIN & Image.ub is enough to boot the board, Image.ub is combination of  kernel+DTB+initramfs.

what do you mean when you say "the system booted up, but not working as expected" . cloud you please let me know what you are expecting.

Thanks & regards
