Bootgen for 32bit linux

Jump to solution

Hi all,

I am new to the forum.

I am trying to compile a linux kernel for a Red Pitaya board (32bit armv7).

I get stuck when trying to make the boot.bin file.

>./bootgen -image boot.bif -o i boot.bin

The error message is:

>ERROR: Could not find 32-bit executable.
>ERROR: /usr/src/linux-xlnx-master/arch/arm/bin/unwrapped/bin/unwrapped/lnx32.o/bootgen does not exist
>ERROR: 32-bit platform is not supported.

I have searched everywhere for a bootgen executable for a 32-bit platform, but without any luck.

Does this exist or how do I make a boot.bin for my platform?

Thank you in advance,

Maja

Bootgen requires a 64 bit operating system.   To build your boot.bin, run bootgen on a 64 bit system, then program your boot.bin into the boot flash of your board.   Refer to the Xilinx tutorial in UG1165
