DMA for PLB v4.6?

Jump to solution

Hi,

When we use the IPIF to create a peripheral, we can select in the PLB v3.4the option DMA. It doesn't appear for PLBv4.6. So my question is: DMA exists for PLB v4.6?

Thank you

Hi,

I have also asked this question before.  The answer is you do not have DMA support in the PLB v4.6 version of IPIF.  The only choose I think

you will have is to instantiate the Central DMA and add it to your design.  The Central DMA is what I am using.

This Answer helped a lot ....

I am just wondering why they don't update the Guides and the Ipif Documentation ...

That's essential for frustration free development

Hi,

Check out the "PLB v3.4 and OPB to PLB v4.6 System and Core Migration User Guide" (mg_ug.pdf) from EDK installation directory.
