EDK / ISE license problem

My evalution license expired today, but we purchased a license from Xilinx now.

 

How do I activate the new license?

Assuming you are using 10.1 - I would:

-go to the Enitlement Center (https://secure.xilinx.com/webreg/register.do?group=esd_oms) and generate a new registration ID that includes full Foundation and EDK features.

-update your configuration, e.g. Start -> Programs -> Xilinx ISE Design Suite 10.1 -> ISE -> Accessories -> Update Software Product Configuration and enter the new registration ID

 

Older version of the tools may be slightly different because:

-previous versions didn't have a unified installer and single registration ID (rather they used separate registration IDs for ISE & EDK)

-I believe the Update Software Product Configuration issue is relatively new

 

That should certainly be quicker than uninstalling and reinstalling the tools.
