Extremely frustrating crash in Xilinx SDK when updating hardware...

Whenever I export hardware from PlanAhead 14.5 to the SDK I am asked to confirm this once I open SDK and then it crashes instantly, gives some Java errors, and when I reopen the project the source code (which was fine before) throws a bunch of errors like

Multiple markers at this line
    - fatal error: xil_types.h: No such file or
     directory

Is this a known bug?  What do I do to recover the project?

Thanks for any help.

I have exactly the same issue, the only thing that is different is I am using 2013.3 (14.3) version on win xp 32bit system.

This is so ridiculous!  Have you found any way around it?

Just a thought - what is your complete export project path? Does it contain any spaces (i.e. " ") or is it greater than 256 characters? If so, try a test by putting your project at the top of your harddisk hierarchy (i.e. C:\) and see if it opens from there.

in my case, the export path and fold name should be fine, it is like F:\autoesl_axi\exercise1\exercise1.sdk\SDK\SDK_Export

Same here... path is not a problem... this is happening on a CLEAN INSTALL of 14.5... need a workaround ASAP

Can you try a test project, may be something very simple or a Xilinx Reference Design?

Failing that, can you go back a version or two? Have you raised a webcase?

Just did a webcase... I upgraded versions because I was having other issues with 14.3/14.4... Xilinx software is too dang buggy :\

While you're waiting for the webcase, you might try deleting the old hardware folder in SDK (in your case system_hw_platform) before doing the export from PlanAhead, that way if something in the update process is causing the crash you can avoid it and SDK will just re-import the hardware.

good idea, maybe i'm doing something wrong for this though

I think that's what you would expect, since it's deleted and no longer in the filesystem.  Close SDK and export your hardware from PlanAhead and see what happens.  You may also have to regenerate/rebuild the BSP.
