ISE 14.4-7 BSB wizard shows strange error dialog

Jump to solution

Hi,

I was just trying to create a Microblaze system for a ML506 Board.

When the BSB wizard reaches the Peripheral Configuration step and I click the Next Button the folowing Error message appears:

strane_BSB error

The Busy-Wheel mouse cursor is then running forever.

The error window vanishes when I klick the OK button, but then I'm stuck with the wizard at this point.

I tried this with ISE 14.4 and 14.7 on a Linux OS so I think the Versions in between .4 and .7 behave the same.

What causes this error?

Kind regards

  Eilert

Hi Achutha,

it's a Debian Squeeze installation.

Removing the ML506 default peripherals down to 1 COM port and the non-removable lmb-controllers made no change.

I just checked the Terminal output (which I should have done from the beginning).

There appears:

 ERROR:EDK:3409 - Error calling proc
   <CoreModel::ClockRequirements::update_clock_on_port>: syntax error in
   expression "abs(100000000.0)": missing close parenthesis at end of function
   call

________end of message (Eilert)_____________

This issue dates back to ISE 12.1 and has an answer record:

AR# 35648

Error caused by german or french language settings.

The workaround is still working:

$ export LANG=en_US.UTF-8

$ xps &

Kind regards

  Eilert

Hi Eilert,

I tried this in 14.7 on RHEL 5.6 machine and i don't see the issue.What is the OS are you using?

I seen some issues in the older version 13.x specific to IP or peripheral select,Can you try having only 1 peripheral(RS232_Uart) added and see if you still see the error?

Regards,
Achutha

I do exactly as your instructions but still got the error.

I have 2 languages (viet and eng) for text entry but I already set to English.

I try $ export LANG=en_US.UTF-8

and $ unset LANG

but nothing works.

Could you help me with this?
