MicroBlaze Hello World SDK Example Error with 2017.3 and Ubuntu 16.04 on KC705 Development board

Hi, I am running Ubuntu 16.04, Vivado 2017.3 and the corresponding Xilinx Software Development Kit, Release Version: 2017.3. I am targetting the Kintex 7 KC705 development board, and I am simply following the directions found in this quick start guide: https://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/quick_start/microblaze-quick-start-guide.pdf . I have enabled the debug level output into the SDK Log if that might shed any light. I have tried searching for answers to this problem, and tried everything I have found on the forums without any success.

 

One thing that has crossed my mind is that the forums have indicated that PetaLinux relies on 32 bit libraries, and I am on a 64 bit machine and cannot get the right 32 bit dependencies called out in another post, as they do not seem to exist and throwing a wildcard into the apt-get doesn't find them either. That is not relevant yet, I think, as my issue seems to be with the SDK generation of the example project, not PetaLinux yet.

 

I mention the 32 bit and 64 bit clash as well, because of this other forum response to a similar error message from a different application:

But if I have other versions of Vivado and the driver works for them, 2017.4, 2015.4, and 2016.4, why would it suddenly be a problem in 2017.3? Is there a mismatch with the 32 bit and 64 bit versions somehow? There is only one option for both Vivado Design Suite HLS Edition for Linux in each version possible and SDK for that specific version of Vivado, so I don't think it is likely.  That then leaves the libusb-driver.so in question, but if it worked with other versions of Vivado, older and newer, then it should work in this version of Vivado, I would assume.

 

 

Anyways, any help with the current issue is greatly appreciated.

Can you install the libs below:

 

  • sudo apt-get update

I restarted the PC, regenerated the bitstream, and exported it and opened up SDK, and tried to do the New Hello World Application Project again. Still not quite sure what the problem is. Below is the SDK Log output I get with the libs installed:

Re: MicroBlaze Hello World SDK Example Error with 2017.3 and Ubuntu 16.04 on KC705 Development board

The libraries are installed and in the most recent versions. Is there anything else that could be causing this issue? Any help is greatly appreciated!
