Microblaze simulation startup

Jump to solution

Dear all,

I try to simulate my microblaze design to test an IP connected to PLB.

I have the following settings (EKD 10.1 SP2):

- Microblaze v7.10.c

- ILMB and DLMB to hold instruction, data, heap and stack

- set the compiler option -mno-clearbss to improve startup

- IP to test at PLB

- no additional IPs

My test application reads from the IP in an endless loop. The code and the IP are working (tested in FPGA).

The only thing I see during my simulation (after ~5msec) is, that the M_ABus[0..31] signal of the ILMB counts up from 0x00000000. Seems to be initialisation of something.

Could anybody please give me information what I have done wrong? Or what I have to do to improve startup? It takes a too long, to simulate several msec.

Thanks a lot.

Best regards, Nico

Hi,

I've solved my problem. In simulation, the wrong BRAM configuration was selected. So, there was no program code available for microblaze.

Check, if you have connected the correct BRAM (with application code)!

Regards, Nico

Hi Nico Thanks,

Can you elaborate on this (connecting the correct BRAM).

Thanks
